Employment for foreigners
As a student from an EU/EFTA country with a B residence permit, you may be in gainful employment in Switzerland for up to 15 hours per week without having to apply for a work permit. As a student from a third country with a B residence permit, it is possible for you to submit an application for a 15-hour/week work permit to the Immigration Office of the Canton St.Gallen (Migrationsamt). If you are looking for gainful employment for more than 15 hours a week, then you should contact the Immigration Office.
